Called dealer today and got the VIN number. My DDE dates settled on 7/21/08-10/19/08. The car was loaded on the Tampa from Bremerhaven on 7/28/08. Dealer says the ETA is 8/20/08. My number is 1237 in St. Louis (Creve Coeur). Finally light at the end of the tunnel. Hope this helps some of you waiters.

The Tampa is docked at the Baltimore dock today and tomorrow 8/6 & 8/7. We will see how long now it takes to get to Missouri. (The car, not the ship!!)

DDE is: 8/30/2008 to 11/28/2008 and holding.
Not really happy with this whole process and how long its taken.
My DDE was steady from Aug 08 to Oct 08. No days given, just the months. Now for the last 2 days, it reads "Your vehicle delivery date cannot be estimated at this time."
What's up with that?
Four days inside the window should indicate your car is being loaded onto a ship. My experience was that I picked up the car three weeks later.

I emailed my dealer like 3 days ago and they had nothing for me. I don't want to be a pest, but if I find out that it is on its way and I was not given the VIN for tracking purposes, I am going to be beyond pissed.

I am going to be a bit of a pest. It's what they get paid for. Always be courteous, but call and call often. We all know that isn't what they want to hear either.
I got the last 6 of my VIN but not the first set of # from my dealer - since they just opened I think they are still learning the ins-and-outs of the Smart shipping quirkiness. Hopefully the first #'s match my Passion that was an orphan, I just copied those and it isn't showing on the ship tracking yet but I'll give it a few days. (YES I AM KEEPING THE ORPHAN AND NOT SELLING! I NEED 2 CARS, WHY CAN'T BOTH BE SMARTS?)

Even though my EDD isn't untill next week, 8/13/08 11/11/08, I got this email from smart today! I reserved last year on 31 August 07, and confirmed in March. Reservation #1308 and Yellow/Black.

Why didn't Dave send me a e-mail? I already have my V.I.N. number and through contact with the dealer know my car should be in on the 20th of August. I guess I was lucky to get the configuration e-mail last January.
