I'm finally due to pick up my Smart tomorrow (6/11/08).
While I still think the world of the car, my dealership has been most unhelpful. Every bit of information they have given me has been wrong. Every date has been off, no phone calls have ever been returned, etc, etc.
I really hope once I get the car that I never have to deal with the dealership again. Their customer service is poor.
Sorry to hear that. Kinda in the dark here since we don't know where you are or which dealer you're using. Recommend talking to the General Manager if you're not getting what you want.
Congrats on the new ride!!! In case you need three to say it, talk to the GM, when you pick up the car, about the lack of communications and customer service.
I,ve had a similar situation at Bedford, Ohio dealership, but I received an e-mail this morning that my ride is in. It's been over a year and wouldn't you know I leave on vacation tonight for about 2 weeks. First vacation in years and first ever over a week. We will pick up the little bugger on the 25th. Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now if my son doesn't burn the house down or party too hard while were gone all will be well with the world.
As soon as booking is opened.deliver as by the fixed date.
don't keep for long time in the show room.

I have nothing but Professional service here at the Round Rock Texas location. Jordon and Marty are very helpful everytime I come in. Heck, I was even able to do 2 test drives, one with electronic stearing and one without. I am buying without. don't see getting the extra 450 paid when it is like driving a go cart.

Have this in my Smart now, and not on the one I just configed. You don't need it! Got the heated seats for $220, a better option on cold days.
Over in Britain the smarts are sold in Mercedes Benz dealerships, they usually have a little corner of the showroom, usually the furthest away, they treat you like second class citizens, as you are not buying a Merc, and once you buy, it does not get any better, we have had so many problems, with Mercedes, we no longer go to them, but go to very good independants, specialising in smarts, they can do everything a main dealers can do, except code a new steering wheel, with paddles.
Do they sell smarts on their own over there, or do you have to go to a Mercedes dealers to buy one?

Funny that you mention the heated seats.
I just got Heated seats, alarm system and the tac/clock. Figure Heated for those cold mornings, alarm system so they don't steal my car, and tac to know when I am shifting with the paddles until I get a real feel for the car. And, since they made Red a no extra cost option, went with Rally Red. Just hoping that they don't raise the price of the car. I did put in my reservation way before they wanted to change the design. Grant it, they should have an order cutoff date. Anyone that actually gets their 09 this year should have to pay 08 prices. Or at least if you ordered your smart before they announced at least keep it that way.
