Got an orphan before confirmation email!

Well with some help from some fellow forumites i was able to go to my smart dealer on 2/10 and find out they had a model like the one I reserved waiting to be released by smart to be sold as an orphan. I was on that thing like white on rice! I took delivery on Thursday 2/14 of my new red smart fortwo passion. Which is great!

Tonight I was going through the forums, and even now I still do not have my confirmation email! From what I've read.. even once you get the email, you're still a couple months off from actually getting the car.

So, for those of you out there that are waiting impatiently like me GO TO YOUR LOCAL SMART you might just get yourself an orphan. And for smart usa, what is going on with your reservation program? I could walk in and buy one quicker then I could get one by putting it on reservation last June!?!

Hmm, I got a confirmation Email 9/18/07 but no calls from the dealer, no password to confirm my reservation at www.mysmartfortwo.com yet. I did get a nice thankyou email from Roger Penske on 9/28/07.

I think I'm about to start camping out in the parking lot of our dealer. I can't for the life of me figure out why smartusa can't get any better at this whole communicating-with-your-customers thing, but boy, it sure can be frustrating.

my configuration email came to my junk mail and if it wasnt for the fact I only had 1 piece of junk mail that day I would had automaticly deleated it without looking

Was your "confirmation" email of 9/18/07 one confirming your $99 reservation?
Your won't get a password to confirm your reservation, however in the coming months you will get another email requesting you to configure at mysmartfortwo.com. That one will have the password you need. A dealer call is not likely until your car is on order and being built.
