I'm just curious if anyone got thier original 99.00 deposit back after they bought an orphan,I called smartusa prior to picking my orphan up they told me the dealer could take it off the price of the car I was buying ,when I asked the salesman I was told ask the business manager ,so when I asked the business manager ,he had the contract already done ,and it was close to closing ,he said all I had to do was call and they would mail it back,when I called I was told it would take7-10 business days ,no check so far,has anyone got thier money back after purchasing an orphan?

smart center Portland took the $99.00 off on my orphan.

When did you request your $99? Smart said they'll send a check? Normally, doesn't the refund come back to where the payment was originated (i.e. credit car account)?
As for answers to your question, I suspect that most of those who requested a refund after they got another brand are no more on this portal. And most of those who got an orphan did get their "credit" then.

Smart Center San Jose said we had to call the 1-800 number to request a refund, which we did. We're now waiting for the check.

When we refused our car over the dealer fees, smart usa actually called to verify we didn't want the car. Refund check arrived a few weeks later.

Just called and canceled. Check will arrive in 7-10 business days. She asked why I canceled. Told her was tired of waiting to order one .My reservation number was 1261.Realized there are better values out there.

If you cancelled your smart order and wanted your $99.00 refund why would you still be interested in this board? The people who got their money back are long gone to respond to this thread. For the most part I feel this is true. I know there are exceptions to every rule.

Well there's probably a sizable number of us who have canceled our reservations because we've been able to grab an orphan...
