I reserved in Spetember 2007, and currently show a DDE of Dec 08 to Feb 09. Dates keep changing though, so I'll have to wait to see what it is in the end. Too long, but what are you going to do. Just glad I am not desperate for a new car at the moment.
Since I posted this, it has changed twice now showing October to December of 2008. Keeps getting better. Judging by it at this point it may be around November when it comes in....I hope.
I reserved mine on 5/17 and the smart website is still saying the vehicle delivery date can't be estimated! Does anyone know how they are working the reservation list?
I reserved on 7/12/08 and I have a DDE of 9/09 to 11/09. It was later, but a few days later they moved it up a month. I guess it all depends on where you live.
OK, now it's 13 months and 1 week! (Reserved 7/26/07, #1302) still waiting for the confirmation email. yes I checked with Smart, yes I'm still at stage 1, MY DDE says Jan-Mar 2009 so working backwards I guess it could still be a November configure to make it a March delivery. I guess I'll be patient. Or it could be this month for January delivery. Or somewhere in between.

I found this as part of the original reservation email from Smart, I almost fell out of the chair from laughing. What happened to the second half of 2007, I'm still waiting for the authorized Dealer contact 13 months later.

Once you configure, how long does it take to get your car? How long does it typically take before you hear from the dealer? When is the delivery estimator updated?
#1386, Richmond VA, Reserved 18 Oct, 2007, "second" Configured for the 2009 on 26 August. Va Beach Dealership said my DDE is 11 November, 2008. DDE shows between 12 October ~ 10 January 09. I would think that just after 1 October, the DDE will be updated to reflect the first of the 2009's.
