Irrelevant because the original poster is tryin to justify purchase of another make/model vehicle. Reckon he figures by making a new thread/posting here that he'll boost the value of his Turdota he purchased and make the price of the smart he had configured less so.

Though that's just my guesstimate based on the original post and the thread thus far.

I would be upset about that too. I would give them a call and talk to them on the phone. They weren't able to help me, because I wanted a DDE further out to assure myself an '09, they wouldn't change it, but they were able to proivide me with a lot of other information.

It's worth it!

It's not a perfect car and it should get much better mileage, but once you have a smart, you will love it.

Not to brag or anything, but I reserved mine a few weeks ago and my DDE is Nov 2008 - Jan 2009. I guess location really does make a huge difference.

I guess I should have used a New York address to get the car sooner. Hopefully by the time I am done with the first one, if I choose to get another, the wait will not be as long.

The east coast is faster. I just picked up mine and want to reserve another for down the road but am afraid that my number would come up too fast. So I'm going to wait until 2nd Q 2009 to put in my reservation; hopefully, that'll mean a car sometime in 2010.
