How many of the 1500 Brabus Smarts are on SCOA?

I think I was one of the first people to get a Brabus. I got mine in December 2008. Silver on silver cabrio.

Well, according to rumors. Smart sold out of the first 1500 Brabus (750coupes/750cabrios). Smart Manhattan and a couple others sent me an email stating they were gone from all the dealers sometime like 2 or 3 months ago (I forget when). Then within the past couple months have decided to make 500 more (250/250) for a grand total of 2000. So the extras are largely from this second batch. The only confirmation of this information is from someone on this forum who said he works for Smart, but that's as official as the information gets. But I'm as confused as everyone else as it seems people are still taking delivery on Brabus orders. Maybe someone can clarify what is really happening with regard to whether A. it really is 1,500, 2,000, etc. B. Was there really a second batch decision. etc.

My original reservation was placed on June 22 for a yellow 09 passion coupe (Yellow was still available back then). I was denied on Nov 19th after I configured and e-mailed in my upgrade request on Oct 24th for a Brabus... Sh!t!! Then, on Dec 23rd I got an e-mail stating that due to "overwhelming demand additional Brabus units were being made available" so, if I still wanted the loaded black Brabus that I originally configured on Oct 23rd I could get it. I think you folks can figure out the rest...I just took delivery from the smart Center of Charlotte on Apr 30, 2009. "Lil' Blackie" and I are now getting to know each other. I really like this car!!

I guess I was one of the lucky folks who got one of the extra 500 Brabus units they "say" have been built. I think that when gas prices dropped from $4.25 to $1.75 a gallon and the economy started to turn people were not so quick to line up and plunk down $20+ grand on a small 2 seat car. I suspect that quite a few Brabus reservations got cancelled freeing up some of these neat little cars.

Has anyone been able to actually confirm the Brabus production numbers. My dealer says 1500 cars total (750 cabrios and 750 coupes). I guess eventually the "Real" numbers will come out.

I was in the original Brabus order group, but mine is not due until the end of this month. I took delivery of a Silver Brabus Coupe equiped just like what I ordered except the color. When I saw a black and the silver one together, I decided to get the silver Brabus. I think that it is a joy to drive and am extremely pleased with it thus far. Just turned 1100 miles. As gas prices start creeping back up, I am saving more each month from what I would be paying in my diesel truck.

I too was in the original order group. The last DDE I had would have put my delivery at June 23, 2009. I decided to to accept an orphan matching my order back in April. I am truly happy with it. 4K miles - the mileage is about 41-43mpg and gets better with the miles. No anomalies to speak of, however someone did strike the driver's side tridion cell with something of a hard rubber nature while passing in the opposite direction denting the metal. It is at Toyota of Waterford (owned by Roger Penske) getting repaired - cost ??? $755!!

Received my Black Brabus Cabriolet June 1st. Ordered a Cabri. in March 08 and upgraded to a Brabus in October. Took 14 months but WELL worth the wait. Don't know what my reservation number was.

Anybody here buy there silver brabus cab from Redlands LA area in southern CA.? I bought one used up in N.cal with 6800 miles on her about 7 months ago..

Would love to ask the owners some ?s.. like if they want to sell there extra key and any kind of of info they my have for me/us....

Mine was a black coupe that was converted to yellow/black (using my original 2008 panels) when I bought it in February 2009.
