Passion, because chopping a couple feet out of each side of the Tridion cell feels like a bad idea. Flame away..........

Passion, less moving parts to break, and xcrew229x is right, turns it into a Tridion ce...

I also like something solid above my head in a hail storm.

Passion also easier to care for.

Garage
No headaches!

Another advantage of the passion: no headaches! The Makrolon polycarbonate roof is made by.... Bayer!

Cabrio! We've already got the practical vehicles for the bad weather. The Smart car will be for fun and sun. I'll leave it in the garage if it snows.

I'm leaning towards the Pure + after market sliding ragtop sunroof. I drove the Cabrio and its extra weight, different cell config, and added road noise changed my mind. I was leaning toward the Passion; but the non-functional tinted roof on hot days seemed counter-functional. Just my two cents...

I am going to order a cabriolet, test drove one on saturday, was a blast. Getting the car as a toy so why not go for the cab.

I live in Minnesota and couldn't personally justify an extra $3000 for something I wouldn't use that much. It was tempting, though, but I love my coupe.

I opted for a passion coupe. I never drove the cabrio - I was not terribly interested in it. The configuration for entering the cargo area isn't my thing, and at least for the next 3 months - I don't live in the best neighborhood (and I still pay $1,200 a month for a 1 bedroom.. heh)... one less thing to be messed with.

I'm going to have to adjust to having the fixed panoramic roof - but since I will have my VUE still, it can be my open air vehicle since it has a very large sunroof.

This past Saturday, I went to my dealer to get some information on my impending delivery and take another drive. They were using a Silver/Black Tridion/Red cabrio with the top down for test drives. I took it out on the same test drive loop I took the coupe out on before, and there were a few noticeable differences to me.
  • The top down severely restricted my rearward vision. I drove buses for 5 years, so I am used to not having rearward vision, but I'd rather not potentially cut someone off by accident.
  • The stereo is pretty good - I'm glad I opted for it on my coupe. That being said, I had to crank it to hear it at highway speeds.
  • I didn't like that I couldn't hear the engine as much in the cabrio. It was a distant, muted growl in the cabrio where the closed compartment in the coupe really lets you hear it snarl. Perhaps much of this was due to the top being down, but I was not as much of a fan.

Cabrio - I love the ability to open and close it while driving. With my Mustang, I had to pull over and have the emergency brake on to open or close it. Just got the Smart last Friday and have not removed the rails yet. It's so easy to just fold the top back.
