YMMV:

I have long hair too. I also ride a Harley. They make scruncies that are kind of like a tube. These are great for longer hair but can be hard to find. Many times I'll just do one scrunchie and loop the bottom up to go through it and just pull through about 2". So the scruncie is next to my head holding a big pony tail and then the pony tail pulled up and part of it through again. This usually holds but I have really thick curly hair.

Visit your local Harley dealership. They have leather hair holders that are in several sizes. Some only 3" long up to about 6" long. Of course you can trim them to fit the length of your hair in a pony tail.

Sunscreen, sunscreen, and sunscreen. Though realistically I find a lightweight white long sleeve shirt to work best. And it's actually cooler than having the sun searing my flesh. Texas heat can be brutal!!

Combo of the two

I would LOVE to have a combination of the two models. I had a '79 Renualt R5 ( Le Car) that had a huge folding cloth sunroof that I would open all year around,in west Michigan no less. I wish I could get the folding top of the cabrio with the hatchback of the coupe. Now that would be the puuuurrrrrrrrfect Smart for me!

My cab

I have had my cab for 4 weeks. I drive between 35 and 65 most of the time. I have no problem with noise, wind or water. I opted for the sound pac, comfort pac and the sport pac, the car handles nice, 40 mpg and to drop the top and enjoy the sun is just awesome. I have 3 cabs and the smart cab is just smart. I would not hesitate to buy another.

He has a C70 and I asked him "how often can you actually enjoy the top down?". May and September was our conclusion. Other months are not so, well, comfortable. I know, the cabrio has an almost all-weather kind of top, nevertheless, summers are too hot and humid in the previously swampy DC, and winters are too cold and windy thanks to the Canadian Express and l'Enfant. His grid design works very well as a wind tunnel.
But I also know that any new acquisition calls for some rationalization, legitimate or perceived, often for self justification.
I could not agree more, so in that spirit that is why ultimately waiting to adopt my very own orphan I will take either! Just as long as it's healthy!
