Orders Seem to be getting quicker

I reserved mine on 12/24/08 and received my configuration email 01/30/09 and my ETA is now August 09 from the original December 09. Wife is jealous since she waited almost 18 months for hers that she got back in September 08.

After switching my first reservation to a Brabus (which I still don't have a date for), I put in a 2nd reservation on 11/30/08, and as of last week it said estimated delivery of aug-oct 09. On Friday I got the email to configure already.

Agree it does seem to be moving faster lately. My question is why? Don't think Smartville is producing any more cars. Has priority shifted to North America? My guess is no. So, maybe the waiting list is shrinking and folks with reservations ahead of us have canceled, moving everyone else up on the production schedule. Inquiring minds, etc.

If Europe isn't ordering, and there is still a huge backlog in the US, why not transfer some production capacity here? It just makes economic sense. I know the Indianapolis dealer has several orphans available right now, 6 months ago there was no such thing as an orphan in Indiana!

Yep the economy is shrinking instead.

My local smart center has about 20 smart cars in stock. They even tried to convince me to pick up their Brabus demo instead of waiting for the order.
