Placed my order this morning! (Michigan)

I received an email notice last night that I was now allowed to place my Smart Car order! It stated that I must place my order by September 30th, or risk losing my order priority and delaying delivery of my vehicle. It also stated by placing my order now, I should receive my new vehicle within the first 3 months of 2008. So I went ahead and placed my order of a silver/silver Cabrio with every available option. The cost excluding tax, license, registration, destination charge and dealer installed accessories was $18,230. I am from northern Michigan (Traverse City) and placed my $99 reservation on March 19th, 2007. Any questions, please ask. Anyone else from Michigan placed an order yet or am I and Roger Penske the first!

So, by placing your order you had to....... leave a non-refundable deposit of 10%, have approved financing, pay cash etc.? What assures them that you WILL buy the car when it arrives?

None of the above. The order is not "official" until the order paperwork on my specific vehicle is received by the dealer. I suspect they are not worried about being unable to sell a car that is not claimed. I should also say that by completing the order process, you agree to purchase the vehicle.

What was your reservation number? Based on your reservation date I know the last 5 digits are 11173. I'm trying to figure out the rest of the digits.

How did the process go, was it difficult to navigate through the system? Any suggestions for making the system more clear?

The process was extremely clear and user friendly. I have no suggestions for improvement. Everything is laid out is an easy manner to understand. Great job SMART!

Congrats...you're one step closer!

So I see the confirmation process is still just doing 3/19 reservations. I think thats over 1000 just for that one day alone.

I placed my order Monday 9/17 at 5: 30 PM (red panels, silver tridion, leather seats). I started the process on 3/19. Attempts to find out the REAL sequence of reservations proved fruitless. I was told I'd be contacted by a dealer possibly within the next 2 months.
