Well it finally happened, regretfully Mercedes finally pulled the plug ( no pun intended) on the little smart because of rising manufacturing costs in France. The future manufacturing site will be in Zimbabwe and that facility will be ready for building new smarts within a year or possibly two at the most. Present manufacturing will cease by the end of April of 2008. Any one that has put down their deposit will receive credit back or can apply it as a down payment toward the new small TaTa vehicle currently in the works in India. The choice of colors will be limited of course, for that vehicle will only be available in white with white. Current smart owners will still have their warranty honored at any Starbucks Repair Center. It's April 1st
