VINs versus confirmation date

If you've seen M. Schembri giving a tour of the headquarters on the "Autoline" show from Detroit that has been posted somewhere around, you may have noticed the map on the wall of one of the two conference rooms. It delimits the general zones according to smart. limey is in NE, I'm a mid-Atlantic. That may explain it.
BTW, VINs are global.

The last 5 digits of the vin are still very interesting, especially when one smartie is announced to be shipped , is in port, or delivered, it gives others that have not dug deep for information some clue on where there order may fall

aaaaah, I'd tried this one several times and got nothing, so I thought perhaps this was the one they were saying was west-coast only. Still shows no info.

Ours would be coming into Jacksonville, presumably.
