The wait is too long!!

I bought a Honda Fit yesterday because my DDE is Oct 09. So now how do I go about getting my $99.00 back? I'm sure that has been discussed but I did a search and couldn't find anything. Any help would be appreciated. I drove it 171 miles and filled up again and got 39.86 mpg on 87 octane not premium. Honda has a great reputation and the Fit was rated highly in Consumers Report.

Write to internet brands and request your refund. Explain you are cancelling your reservation and have purchased another vehicle. Include your reservation number if you have it, I forgot mine but it didn't matter; they sent the check in two weeks. Their address is:

smart USA Internet Brands
909 N. Sepulveda Blvd., 11th Floor
El Segundo, Ca. 90245

ATTN: smart Representative

DON'T. You can resell it for more than you will pay. Get it, and sell it on Ebay or Craigslist, pocket the difference.

or just call the 1 800 number. I believe I have seen that people have canceled over the phone.

of course that only makes one person happy- the seller. And delays the delivery of smarts to others waiting a long, long time!

Just call the 800 number and they will send you the refund. No need to write them.

Smokey. Good choice. The Fit is an excellent car and are selling like hotcakes. Not all of us have to option to wait or be manipulated by greedy car dealers. Good luck with your new car. Sorry people can't be nicer here about these things. I just don't understand it.

Bob, no one was mean in the least. No one told him that the Fit sucks and he's any less of a person for wanting to get his money back. No one disagreed with him. two people suggested he hold onto the deposit until the car becomes available "just in case"... no harm in that... I did that... I was going to cancel my reservation a few times but thought "I'll just let the $99 stay there until the last minute and make my decision then... Luckily I did because I hadn't had to make a car decision before my smart arrived. Sure, smokey had to get a car now, but a lot can happen in 1.5 years... maybe by then smart will have an all electric version available... or something else that will appeal to smokey... no harm in suggesting he maybe would want to hold onto the reservation until that point...

Look, the Yaris is a fine car, we're all very happy for you. I almost bought one even.... The Fit is a fine car, and we wish smokey well... I almost bought one of those, as well.... the smart is a fine car.

All three have unique abilities, aimed at a similar goal... economy. There's no bad decision.

It's funny how much you complain about the negativity on this site, but you seem to be one of the prime creators. just an observation.

I was speaking in general. I said nothing about the Yaris. I'm only saying that several people had to buy other cars on several threads and people weren't very supportive on their decision. I also have said that if the fortwo got better mileage I would actually consider trading.
