More on the Smart ED

Check out this article in MSN Auto news.

Smart
Smart is slated to take the knife to the brand-new fortwo next year. After only a solid year of production, the tiny city car will get a few drivetrain updates to make the fuel miser even stingier. Smart says the changes should represent the final bunch for a few years, with last year's introduction of the fortwo Brabus rounding out the carmaker's offerings for the near future.

WHAT'S BEEN REFRESHED . . .

2010 Smart fortwo ED
It helps to think of the fortwo ED as more of an evolution of the widely successful fortwo than a complete refresh. The car boasts a new electric drivetrain (ED, get it?) that should scoot it along while using a fraction of the fuel costs of the gasoline version. New-generation lithium-ion batteries help the car charge quickly while being both lighter and smaller than traditional nickel-hydride versions. So far there's no word about whether the car will be lease-only or sold outright.
Availability: Early 2010
Price: Around $13,000

So are you saying the electric Smart will be priced at $13K ? If so that will be quite the bargain.

At that price, I will buy 2?

At 13k, I will buy 2 electric drive smarts.

More likely is it will be $13K ADDED TO the current price for the ED (Electric Drive) option? If that is correct, then I only want one.

Now WHERE DO I SIGN UP AND SEND A DEPOSIT?

SMARTUSA are you listening out there?

Bob Dole approved! I don't think 13K is the right price considering the high cost of batteries.

For YOU people that need it Smart will throw in a bottle of Viagra to solve that problem. Think of the free publicity for the Smart ED. Heck hire Bob Dole as your spokesman. The possibilities are endless..... NOW if we could just get more Smart dealers!!
