Here's the story, in 08 I purchased a hitch for my cabrio from Smart Car Universe in Canada. It was the only game in town at that time. Still the only one that is high enough off the ground so as to not bottom out on my driveway. The cost was out of sight but it allowed for Max to be used for all sorts of smart fun. Anyway the first version of the hitch didn't have enough strength to use a hitch mount rack without bending at the weld. Les replaced my first edition hitch with one with two triangle support pieces welded in. I have been using that one on Max for the past two years. Being basically a pack rat I kept the original one. Now that I'm moving to FL in the fall I need to clean out the garage. So this hitch is available FREE to any fellow smart 451 owner that wants to pick it up here in Orrington, Maine. NOTE: it can be used just as it is to tow with, it would need the support work for any hitch mount rack because of the downward forces.
