I work for a bunch of different dealerships doing paint repair, and while I was at one place they had a smart on the hoist. The tech told me "you can lower it down,I am done." Long story short, I drove it less than 500ft and it seized up. So I feel responsible.

Has anybody rebuilt a smart engine? For the same price that smart wants for a new engine I could go to GM and buy a LS7 for a ZO6 vette!

I'm guessing no oil.

Um, I'm a little unclear on why you feel responsible. If you were told the car was ready to drive, and it wasn't, that's not your fault.

I would have thought with Mobil 1 in there, it would go farther than that with the residual oil on the motor. Besides, if he said he was done, I would think he forgot the oil.
