I am a son of a retired military soldier. Would I qualify for insurance through USAA?

My $58/mo (2nd car) is because of higher limits and lower deductibles where I could be $16/mo lower going more for minimums.

It looks like there's a dependency: "If your parents have ever been USAA members [...] you may be entitled to the benefits of USAA membership"

But call them up and find out. I recommend them for insurance and banking. I've been with them nearly 2 decades because my dad was/is a member.

If your retired milatary parent isn't a USAA member, talk them into it and you can join, too!

I just spoke to my retired military parent on the phone because of your post here. He said he's gotten quotes from them, but he is a Nationwide Auto Insurance Customer because they're cheaper.

I'm currently a customer of Progressive Direct insuring only one vehicle.. a 1998 Volkswagen New Beetle.. and I'm paying $539 every 6 months on the New Beetle.

My SF agent quoted me a rate higher than I pay on my $42,000 BMW. Hard to believe. At the time though, it was not in the system yet and they had to find out the rate and call me back. I hope the rate they came up with at the time was incorrect and by the time I get the car they have a better rate for me.

40, clean driving record (knock on wood), no accidents, excellent credit, max limits, min deductible and less than 5000 miles per year. Quote from my State Farm Agent of 22 years comes to $228 every 6 months. Which is $7 more than I am currently paying on my 2000 New Beetle and $163 more than I pay for my 70.

I don't understand that I pay 113.00 a month with State Farm. We've been with them for years and have excellent credit!! I guess I need to give them a call and find out how I can get it for 43.00!!!!
