Easiest way is to not crash. Mine was not serious (is that possible??) but was caused by me not paying attention. Road construction had changes an exit ramp so it ended sooner than expected, plus they sand blasted the paint lines off the roadway. When I realized the road turned, I was in the sand and ended up going down, Broke 3 ribs and collarbone in 2 places. It hurt a lot but my helmet, jacket and gloves aved my hide.
Now I have a Smart to keep me a LOT safer. I still love to ride and will never give it up. Just no more riding to work, I ride for fun now.
It's too bad you can't put 8 letters on a license plate here. "BABYBENZ" would be a very cool vanity plate for a smart fortwo!
I'd rather not omit vowels.
At least you have a good mix of vehicles. If you need to carry anything big, you're covered. If you ever have the desire to go really fast.... you're covered. And if you just need to putz around town to do small errands and don't want to waste any gas, you're covered. That's like a perfect world to own all of those vehicles.
I wish I could do that without having my savings offset by car insurance. It would be nice if insurance was optional if you had your cars paid off the same way it is with motorcycle insurance.
The fortwo's seem to get more attention than any car I've ever seen. I could drive a $100,000 S-class Benz down here and I would think the smart car would turn more heads. You could bet that people won't be snapping pictures on their camera phones of a Benz like they do a fortwo. That's cool that you could do that for around $15,000 and can't do it with a $100k Benz.
Is this vehicle expensive to insure compared to most vehicles or is it average?
What are you guys paying for full coverage insurance every 6 months?
Also, what is your age (range is fine if you're worried about an exact figure), state, marital status, accident or ticket record?
For my BMW and Saturn, we're paying about $650 every 6 months full coverage, minimum required by Florida for a financed vehicle.
Married, early 40's, no tickets in over 10 years, no accidents in my lifetime.
I'm wondering if my insurance will change once I get rid of the BMW and get the smart fortwo.
I pay $59.00 a month for complete full coverage including full replacement of a new car in case anything happens..... pretty good.
If you're getting full replacement, that's worth it. Most policies only pay blue book, which is cutting you short. Then you have to pay like $500 more on the entire loan for gap insurance.
