Need A Battery And A Spare Key

Can anyone tell me where I can buy a battery for a 2005 SmartCar Da Vinci that we purchased two months ago from an independent dealer in Mesa, Arizona.

We are lacking a spare key, and have problems with the battery draining. If we lose the one key we have or the battery fails to hold a charge, we end up with the worlds largest and cutest paper weight.

I would like to purchase the battery online or from an outlet no further than fifty miles from Arizona. I have searched the internet for two days without any luck. It might help if some one could even tell me who the battery manufacturer is, and the part number.

As for the key . . .Would it be possible that a Mercedes Service Center could make me a spare key?

Ron Gaus of aSmartCar was able to point me in the direction for a new battery. He directed me to G&K Automotive Conversion, Inc. who provided me with the Battery Part No. and the name of the battery manufacturer: "Interstate Batteries" and how I could buy one from one of their retailers.

Ken, I read the reply to you about the battery....so that is a done deal.

As for the spare key...
Here's the story

The key is not the problem, it is programming it with a smart-computer.

That is the only way.

Since you are on the border look for a MB dealer in Mexico close to you, they might sell smart cars or point you to the closest one and yes getting the key is the easy part, the tough part is the programing and for that they need the car in the shop...
