In all fairness, I don't use the cover everyday.
The cover's condition at this point is, as new.
When my cover arrived, I equated the quality to, 'Late 60s to middle 70s' Covercraft 'Silver Hypolon'. Covercraft, after Bob Lichtmann retired, went downhill with their cost (quality) saving. The company is much smaller today.
Looking at the Smart OEM cover, in my opinion, It looks to be a Covercraft product.
All in all, even not taking cost into consideration, I am pleased that I chose the Chart-One-Auto over Covercraft. The real value is in the details; example: the snap-buckles for the under-body straps have soft vinyl covers. The zippered soft storage case is large enough to, not have to be a Houdini to fold and put the cover away. The generous front and rear elastic is as strong as new.
Tip: Folding the cover for storage is not a problem, Unfolding orientation can be..... with the cover on top of the car, both mirror cover pockets on the mirrors, I have marked the underside of the cover with permanent marker, Rt, Lft and Front and Rear with arrows. I marked on seams but it looks like it doesn't show through.
I sometimes wish that when someone asks me the time...... I wouldn't feel I have to tell them how to build a watch. This, even though I hate typing... I had a secretary for that.
