There are about 1300 miles on this car. It runs great but can't be driven due to a bad transmission.
I bought the car as a theft recovery, so yes the title is branded as a salvage. It was partially stripped. I had the missing parts replaced but once they were it was discovered that the transmission was damaged. We figure that this happened at the tow yard. The car was locked in gear so they most likely just dragged it around the yard as they needed to move it.
The motor is of course, perfect. The rest of the car is in nice shape. There is no collision damage on the vehicle at all. The only damage is the transmission and a bent tie rod (again, from being dragged around the yard) for which the replacement tie rod is there.
The buyer could sell this motor to recoup some of the cost of the car or drop in a new/used transmission. How much is a complete low mile Smart engine worth?
Please don't ask for parts off of the car. The shop it's at has been very accommodating to me and I just want to get it out of their way.
The car is located in Long Beach California. It can be viewed there.
