WoW

A Quick check on cars.com shows 11 smarties on sale within 75 miles of me, not a SINGLE ONE under $20k!!!

There is, however, this GORGEOUS custom one in orange...

Cars.com: 2008 Smart ForTwo Passion Cabriolet

WOW!!! Nice looking smart cab, but for $35 K!!!! Did I read that asking price correctly? I'd have to save a lot of gas money to help spring for that baby. Even if you pay, $5,000 for the rims and tires, $1k for the paint job and another $3 K for the other aftermarket goodies, that's $26,000! And it has 135 miles, so it's a used car to boot!
I'll be real interested if someone actually springs for the car at that price!

And most of them are sold by dealers...which makes one wonder if they "lied" on their $99 application. Remember there is an option where the applicant certifies not being a broker or dealer?

Funny I was also thinking there's NO way that many people turned in their smarts for other cars....

I don't know - the original owner on mine traded it in (with 500 miles on it) for a Porsche Boxster.

Some dealerships are buying orphans from the smartUSA dealers, and marking them up for sale. A local dealer in my area is doing that, as the closest smartUSA dealer is 300 miles away.
