i've tested both the turbo and the na with a gtech pro calibrated to take in to account the pitch the fortwo has, the non turbo did a 19.1 stock and the turbo did a 17.1 these were the best times i got on both vehicles both 100% stock
the turbo with a remap, basically factory boost level but comes on a bit earlier peaks earlier and 1-1.5psi higher at max load when spooled, so far best time of 16.3, with the gtech pro you can upload the runs to your computer and view the graphs then you can see why the smart car isnt that quick on paper, the g curve shows that as an average it takes approx 1.1seconds from power off to power back on, compared to a run i did in a clapped out manual where that time was 0.3 seconds... so theoretically there is a huge gain to be had with a manual not to mention the more aggressive axle snapping clutch smoking launch you could do LOL... my turbo needs to be in 4th to cross the line on the 1/4 mile (otherwise it's just going to shift for you anyway) now thats 3 gear changes @ 0.8sec each time lost vs conventional manual... nahhh it couldnt be that quick... or could it! i've seen 0-50kmh consistently in 2.3sec thats faster than most cars on the road.... go smart!
congrats on getting the turbo to work! and actually run on the smart and have some real world gains.... the best bit, better than the acceleration you gain, is the fact it would now have much more torque and in daily driving makes the smart drive like a normal car with what seems a much larger engine than what it has, no more flooring it or downshifting, press the gas turbo spools up and the torque will accelerate you harder in 3rd up a slow hill than a na model will go in 2nd!
and as you mention the 17 will kill the times, wack on the 15's with skinny tyres and watch the time drop, i had an awd auto with 20's on it and 230hp at all 4 wheels and it was 3 tenths faster at the strip on stock 16's and thats in a car that had 330hp at the crank and plenty of torque in the smart it'd be worth almost half a sec over the 1/4 i reckon.... also ive found just to nail it to be the best launch method, our programming is different to yours but you nail it revs go to 3500 and you gone... nothing else has worked as well, holding the revs and brake, like stalling an auto just smokes the clutch and feathering the trottle truing to rev it but not move dosent make any boost or difference, light go green tramp it, althou there is a tiny dealy in reaction so at the strip id take off just befor you see the last light, but then again i dont know hot the tree works over there, here when you see the last amber you nail it, thats for street car drags anyway.
