90mph according to the manual as I said. Possibly a little more with wind or going down hill.

Nope. I had read it earlier on Smart's website, but I didn't check the manual. The printed word trumps what a website says, so if the manual says 90 mph then it's 90mph.

Even with WAAS a GPS unit is still interpolating data and guessing at speeds. My Garmin documentation (I've got a 496 that, at times, has said that I can walk up to 10mph) specifically states "Currently, GPS alone does not meet the FAA's navigation requirements for accuracy, integrity, and availability."

Even if your Smart can go 91mph, if you're on public streets you most certainly shouldn't go that fast.

It certainly looks like it.

If you're going to screw it to your car, you might want to think about getting screw caps so that it doesn't look tacked on.

Your pal,
Meat.

Which Scoop do you think has a bigger opening?

do you think the screen reduces some airflow?

Hard to tell from a picture.

More importantly: I don't believe that either one of them will do anything to significantly increase airflow.

Your pal,
Meat.

I saw some data that showed a lower Intake Air Temp and info saying that that could keep the timing from retarding when it gets hot.

Does that Scangauge thing measure Intake Air Temp?

Yes, the scangauge measures IAT and timing. So you should be able to see the results right away.

Evil Twin Air Scoop

Smart Car Fortwo For two 451 Evil Twin air intake - eBay (item 320269499906 end time Jul-31-08 03:10:28 PDT)

Price is almost the same.
I like the look of the Evil Twin better then Breathless one.
Breathless Air Scoop attaches to the smart with double sided tape, witch is good and bad. Bad is that I would be paranoid to loose it at 90MPH on the road, good is that you can remove it from your car if you decided that you do not like it or want go stock.
Looking from the pictures Evil Twin is using screws to attach directly to the air box (i might be wrong). Does anyone have any input on the quality of the Evil Twin and the way it is attaches to the smart.

Any input on both air scoops will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
