Audiovox Cruise Control ???

Hello to everyone. Earlier this week I took delivery of my Smart Passion fortwo and have been enjoying this "toy" tremendously...


I would like to add an aftermarket cruise control - has anyone tried it before? Audiovox makes a kit that I have used before, inexpensive (it can be purchased for under $100) and reliable. Since I am a new member, I couldn't insert the link for this product but you can view the specs by typing "Audiovox cruise control" on Google search. I don’t know anything about the way the gas pedal controls acceleration in the Smart fortwo, is there a real throttle cable or is it computer controlled. You may have more information about this so any information that will save me time (and agony...) will be appreciated.

I don't know anything about the Audiovox, but there is a cruise control being manufactured specifically for the 451 that should be available in August. I'd assume the short answer on the A/vox is NO.

Most after market cruise modules hook into the wire that controls the throttle. The smart has no such wire, not near the peddle, not in the engine. The only two I know that will work with a smart are listed above, and one is still in development.

The MDC cruise module for the 451 uses the 450 stalk, which is slightly off color. But honestly, I can't tell it's not stock on mine, even in direct daylight. Had mine installed about a week now, install takes about 30 mins, simple. If you can change a stereo, you can install this mod.
