Just out of curiosity, are we talking about the soft top or the windows?

There's a lot more to auto-up than just the switch.

Every car with an auto-up system in the US has a pinch protection system... I suppose one could hack some sort of auto-up in, but it would be a ton of work.

We've got auto-up on the drivers window in the UK, might be either code or possible hardware in SAM unit.

We may have auto-up built into the U.S. smarts, but activating it would require removing the "litigation" code in the SAM unit.

I didn't know of any US cars with an auto up. It's good to know they're out there!

There's text either in the manual or the tech guide that the auto-up isn't supplied because of the danger.

An anti-pinch feature would be much like the garage door protection: if the closing surface meets resistance before the seal compresses, open back up.

It wouldn't be "a ton of work" as much as proper integration. The force on an electrical motor can be measured by the "back EMF." Effectively you can tell how much force a motor requires by how much instantaneous power it takes to operate.

Does the UK driver's window auto-up have an anti-pinch feature?
