One of my cars has auto up, Must be my Versa. Pain in the bum trying to get the window to a set hight. It just keeps going

I'd love auto-up on both. It took me a while to get used to the "auto-back" function on the soft top. It seemed to work sometimes but not others; I have it down now: let go before the top moves and it goes into auto back mode. I can't say the same for the last piece that puts the top the rest of the way down.

The auto-up would be GREAT if coupled with rain detection. Having a car that buttons itself up when it starts to rain? That would be SO nice.

On my old Honda Insight you could hack the switch into doing an auto-up. Can't remember how I did it now though.

It was useful as I usually went with the windows up but had to roll them down to go through different secure areas where I was required to show my ID. The autoup made life simple and gave me more time to keep one hand on the wheel while shifting. Not so much a problem with the Smart.

In what situation would you want an auto up feature?

You tap the switch once for the windows that are down to roll them up.

Come to think of it, I think my `87 T-bird had an auto-up for the driver's front window only. It helps for "taking off" from a toll booth, certainly. And I remember one instance where I'm certain it didn't have an anti-pinch feature.

The Jeep was next - almost a 2-seater. The Z3 then Z4 were 2-seaters. Now I have the Smart.

I guess I need to start a family to break this 2-seater habit.

My Insight had the anti-pinch too after the hack...seems the JDM models had auto-up and the hack just brought it into JDM specs. I'll be proud to say I tested it myself to see if it really did have the anti-pinch feature.
