Best exhaust ?

Has anyone driven or had installed the Borla exhaust. Can't decide betwen Solo, Genius , Remus or Borla. I want increase power without too much noise. I would prefer a tuned exhaust to a free flow.one

yeah ive been looking at the exhuasts since i got the first gen dth and its cracked..i really want the turbo from sfr but if i decide to wait untill my warrantty is up before getting the turbo unit.. the solo cat back muffler seems to be the right balence between good flow and sound dampening the the genius and bpp both use the magna flow muffler so would be close to the same sound...
the remus altho a nice design .. is a bit over priced and being under the valence just doesnt look right to me. i cant comment on borla but they are the hightest priced .. with the best warranty.. but have released no info on the perfomance or sound clips.

hope that helps a little

Based on your wants and needs the Remus would be our top recommendation, with the Solo being the second.

I'm in the same boat and haven't decided yet. There have been too many unhappy endings for the early adopters with noise and reliability, and I don't want to end up the same on a relatively expensive add-on. Until the new units have some time under their belts and relative dB ratings with the same meter at the same spot in the same car (or I get to hear it in person), I'll wait and see.

Exhaust + more

I just ordered the Remus unit. I liked the fact that it doesn't require any body modifications. You can listen to the before and after note on their website.

I'll post again when I get it installed next week (along with a K&N intake system and an ECU re-map) and let you know how it goes.

I ordered a Borla from a local dealer. He told me that to get free shipping, he needed $8K in orders (not all smart systems, of course). He guessed it'd be a few weeks.

Anyhow, that was 4 weeks ago. I talked to him yesterday and he said he is one system away from getting his minimum order for free shipping. He offered to order it outright, as long as I would cover shipping, but I told him I'm not in a hurry.

Anyhow, I hope to get it on my car in the next couple of weeks.

I'll post pics when I get it on the car.

Do it yourself?

ibking -

Did you install the Remus system yourself? After installing the K&N intake yesterday, I am a little wary of working in the tight quarters. What are the alternatives to self-installation? Will the dealer do it?
