BPP Exhaust Disappointment

I've been running the Touring version of the BPP Exhaust now for about 2 months. My wife finds it too loud, but I am working on that. My disappointment in the unit is that one of the exhaust tips is a dummy. I don't have a car or bike, all 6 of them, that the exhaust tips do not turn black after a while. When one Tip is a dummy here is what you get:
Here

I have been cleaning the tip, but it doesn't take long before soot builds back up. I would think for $500, it would not have this ugly feature.

I too have the BPP touring exhaust. Mine get's soot on the end but nothing near that much even after forgoing washing the car for a while. I always wondered why 1 tip have more air pushed out and the one had not as much....

So you're saying that if BOTH tips were to turn black, it would then be worth the money??????
I have the same problem with mine becoming sooty on 1 tip. No big deal. I'm very happy with my BP exhaust. It is a little loud, but thats what I was expecting.

The smart car engines do run a bit rich and that is why you get the black soot on the exhaust tip, so to put a false tip right beside the other really sucks, what a design flaw.
They should either just have a single exit, or make the double exit so that it is equally exhausted through the two tips.

I'm thinking of painting the Tips black on the inside. At least they might both look the same.

I do not think that second tip is a dummy, but it is just how the airflow going thru the exhaust. I noticed it too that right tip is not as hot as the left one.
Here is my black BPP exhaust.
