Our 451s share the same braking system as the 112 hp smart Brabus Ultimate, so I guess, like jwight says, you don't need big brakes but they sure look cool!

I guess i just don't understand how (REAR DISC), two rotors and two calipers could cost $1,800.00.

So far, I found three choices.

Shown below are the brake kits I could find. Any others?

1.) Big Performance:
S-Mann Big Brake Kit has arrived!!
Ventilated Front Disk Brakes by S-Mann
Rear Disk Brake Set

2.) Tar*Ox:

3.) EBC:
Now, I know they offer parts for Smart (like from www.smartrus.com), but I cannot find kits or parts for the Smart on the EBC web site.

Easy. Ever bought a hand-built high-end bicycle? You can easily spend $10k on a high-end bike. Most people wouldn't know the difference from a $450 bike purchased from REI.

Same principle applies. Engineering is expensive and for a (presumed) low volume production item, you can't amortize your costs across a bazillion units.

I agree. I really like the brakes, they look cool, and I presume function out-of-this world fantastic, but I couldn't justify it on my car. But I really want an update from anyone who does this.

Best,

geosynch

Big 6pots

"Does that price include shipping across the pond?"

Sorry shipping is extra.

These are state of the art pieces of petrol porn.

Re the EBC pads the part number is 1287.
