Built an exhaust today!

Slapped together a custom exhaust today using an old Yoshimura sportbike canister. Full details on my website at smartexhaust

Sounds good, looks good, feels good.

Cheers,

Johnny

What's rough? The exhaust clamp? If I'd had more time I would have made up matching stainless and mild steel flanges and bolted that joint together, but even with the exhaust clamp (which IS entirely appropriate, just not "fussy"), I don't see anything "rough" about it.

Curious-

Johnny

"Slapped together a custom exhaust today using an old Yoshimura sportbike canister." Elsewhere, "Leftover Yoshimura Sportbike Canister".
OK, so what are the numbers? What measured improvement in performance? Dynamometer? Or, is this something to be measured only on a decibel meter?

It this a McBeth thing?: “... a tale Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing.”

Dyno numbers??? Dude, it's a SMART car, get real. However, I pulled 13 pounds off the car. That's almost a 1% reduction in weight. You can quote all of the Shakespeare you want, I'll stick with Colin Chapman; "Add lightness".

Congratulations though, that's the most pretentious flame I've ever gotten. P-shaw Muffy, methinks the gentle reader doth protest too much..

I like that, "add lightness", indeed so Chapmanesque.....

The use of excess materials laying around and mutilation of a stock exhaust to build it ;)

Not hating, I myself build very rough things at times as its the way of the garage tuner.

It probably sounds something like my girlfriend's speedtriple... that bike has an amazing roar.
