I for one, applaud this effort.

Well done (even if we don't see eye-to-eye in the intake thread).

Considering the great cost of most aftermarket cat back cans is only ever going to yield 3~9 HP I think and have thought this route is real good for those of us with all sorts of free flow cans laying around.... You can probably hit up most sport bike shops for anything that used to go on a 1100~1600CC bike and morph it in just as Johnny did...You will mostly change the tone...and probably find several hidden ponies for not too much green out lay...

Keeps with the design of the Lil Bugger too

Green By recycling
Green by maybe a few tenths of MPG increase
Smart by you did it standards
Frugal by any ones standards
Fun just cuz it now sounds different

Torques me a tad that Some of you guys are beating me to many of the good ideas...

BUT Kudos just the same...

Caution, I find many times the Butt Dyno is not well calibrated...and some times fooled by cool exhaust or intake noises...usually turbo whine....

That said ...in this case the developer is not making any outrageous claims...he is not trying to sell anything... so his Butt Dyno is perfectly calibrated to my standards for this modification

Good show Johnny...unique and interesting murdered car I like it more as you continue to expand the game..

Where are the Off Road ram air snorkels on each side?

OK! OK ! jest goofing

Thanks Fred- I'm actually thinking about jigging up a fixture to make a new intermediate pipe that would bolt right to the cat flange and let you use the slip-on of your choice. There are a bazillion variations out there, stainless, aluminum, carbon fiber, etc etc, so it would really allow for a lot of individualization. It's not a terribly complicated pipe to bend-up, and at three or four pounds per canister it wouldn't have to support much weight. As soon as the wheel adapters get rolling (the prototypes are being bolted up today!) I'll start thinking about the mid-pipe thing..

Cheers-

Johnny

Nice work, Johnny. I was also toying with the idea of fashioning something to accept a Cobra or Roadhouse m/c slip-on. Do you think there's a way to incorporate, say, reducer collars to more easily accept a slip-on (...and allow a temporary return to stock when state smog tests are scheduled)?

I got a breathless v2 exhaust on sale and modded it so it would fit with my Curt trailer hitch.I had to cut off the pipe where it turns down and added an elbow to it so it comes out at about the stock location. This and a modified air box (bigger pipe ) seems to work great.I don't have access to a dino but it makes a big improvement in power and mileage (47 to 54 mpg) according to my scanguage.I can pull a small trailer full of camping gear like it isn't there.I am wondering if I could pull a small trailer like the Trailer in a Bag with my Harley Classic on it to Sturgis from the St. Louis area without any problems.
