Carrying a ladder...

The problem is, we need to mount / carry a ladder so we can get on rooves to take measurements at job sites. I did some searching around the forum.. and it looks like the smart can't mount a roof rack..?

Right now, we've been putting the ladder in the passenger seat (it's a folding gorrilla ladder), which isn't a very good option because it limits seating to one, moves around, barely fits, and is probably dangerous in accidents..

Are is there any other way we can mount a ladder on the smart (bike rack on the back or something)? Maybe a side rack?

If not, can the Smart tow an equipment trailer?

The Golilla Ladder may be a bit much for a Bike Rack.

You can invest in a Hitch and a small trailer from Harbor Freight.
- Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

Hitch from one of the Vendors here or you can go down to U-Haul and have them install one

I hauled a 8 foot table down to the store, about 10 blocks, by sticking it out the back with the glass up. It worked oK but I wouldn't do that with a long ladder. do the trailer thing.

there are telescoping ladders that stow into themselves and are about 2 feet closed but extend quite a ways.. I see their booth at every construction trade show we go to. google em..

Use a truck. Smarts aren't made for ladders.
