That by switching the power at fuse 11, one might run the risk of the make/break of the switch arch producing damaging inrush to the sensitive electronic control unit or some other equally sensitive electronic device and render it *Toast*.

Thank you. It's a computer. Unless someone with intimate knowledge of the electronics and software can assure you that runtime interruption is safe, you run the risk of screwing up a vital safety system and/or the entire computer that controls everything from the ABS to ignition. I'm betting the warranty would basically be thrown out, so "at your own risk" has new meaning.
When the computer's ESC and ABS and other WTF software includes control over brakes and throttle, you'd better know what you're getting into. It'd really suck to have the hill-start assist kick in at 60mph.
