Cutting Lower Valence

Hmmm...I'm looking at getting a Genius exhaust but I have a concern. My lower valences are painted to match (2012), wouldn't cutting them damage the paint? Like would the paint or clear coat begin to peel?

Also...how does one cut them?

Cut just like you were recommended in the other thread but outline the area with thick masking tape. That's how I do it.
