Not having the CC I haven't visited the site lately; what a neat thread! Complete tutorial on removing the instrument cluster, plus all the technical info on various LED configurations. Kudos to you guys for all the work on the aux LED install. More kudos to John_H for putting his plug and play kit together.

I was hoping to get things rolling with the area451 forum crowd before letting the news out here, but I guess it works wither way. :-)

The direct link to my new area451 post with the details is here and should provide good info for what's offered, though looking through the thread from the beginning will give anyone an appreciation for what's involved and what service is offered here.

I may elaborate more on a separate thread in a week or two as the dust settles from the first round.

I ordered too. Nice addition and should simplify the process by having a kit versus doing something myself.

Got my blue led kit yesterday. Installed it today! Works great and matches the same blue and intensity as the High beam indicator. The only change I made was that instead of cutting the wires that go into the instrument panel to put the end through, I just cut the little piece out between that connector hole and the little hole John said to put the wire through. It was a lot easier to do it that way and doesn't affect anything.

I'm looking into installing the Area451 cruise control. I was wondering... Did you have to take your car to Smart (after the physical installation of the cruise control) to have them update the car chip (to let the system know you now have cruise control)? I read through the installation instructions and it didn't mention anything about the TAN code, but other sites reference this and say that only a Smart dealer can update the system.

Thanks,
JTS
