I had a broom stick cut down to go between gas pedal and seat bottom when I used to drive back repossesed Suzuki Samauri's for a bank.Brought back over 200 from all over the country in 2 years. My cruise control stick worked like a charm every time.

I used to route a Choke cable push/pull assy from the dash down and behind the throttle pedal and rigged it so foot feed was one way

In other words...you could pull the knob and apply/set the throttle pedal but if you pushed the pedal with your foot it would NOT make the knob move in and out on the dash

On another vehicle I did same thing but to the carb linkage

Only draw back was you had to mash IN the knob if you needed to panic stop for any reason

I may be dating myself, but my first car was a '62 Ford Falcon. It came with a "Manual" choke. The cool thing about this, to a new 16 year old driver, was it would do up to about 40 or so, just from pulling on the choke. Only good around town, but useful none the less.
