You beat me to the Supertrapp idea. Driving down to Lombard, I planned it all out. Have a muffler shop cut back part and run a single 4" Supertrapp out the center. That reminds me to start checking ebay for prices.

It's going to be a while. My first guess is if I can just cut off the tips and have two discs welded on, but it's going to be ~$150 just in parts. My wife doesn't *hate* the noise now even after the trip, so I might not be able to get the funds. Go figure, the husband thinks its too loud and the wife doesn't mind.

Thanks for the interest in SuperTrapp.
The disc only unit may cut the sound by a db or two: however if the droning
is from resonance or exhaust harmonics from underneath the car it most
likely will not help.

Bummer, though... Guess I'll have to adjust to the noise level and get a better cell phone headset!

It really DOES sound and look cool...
