I had now gone through several exhaust systems. I am most happy with the sound and performance of the Doug Thorley Quiet Version. However it did not survive this past winter and the highly corrosive salt used to melt the winter ice and snow on the roads and highways.

Although it is advertised as a Stainless Steel unit, I think it's Steel that is ceramic coated. The rust peeled alot of the coating off and most of it has bubbled.

I contacted Elie at 4Smartcar.com and he sent me out a replacement unit immediately. I asked for assurances that this will not happen again, and he assured me it wouldn't and that DTH will examine my rusted unit when it returns next week.

What date (xx/yy/xx) did you report eh problem to Elie at 4smartcar? And when did he ship you a new unit, please?

About 1 year later, the last one that 4Smartcar.com sent me also rusted through. I contact Elie and he said he no longer handles DTH products, and that I need to contact DTH directly. I emailed them and am waiting for a response.

DTH has left a lot of smart owners high and dry, don't expect them to do anything for you. Sorry about what happened. I can promise you I will never buy anything from DTH ever.

I also liked the sound of my DTH Quiet power muffler, unfortunately it didn't last a complete year before it looked similar to the pictures above and the center pipes started rattling so annoyingly loud I had to remove it. Was assured by the manufacturer that my new muffler will be sent out soon, that was well over a year ago, maybe it's in the mail.

Just got off the phone with Nick at DTH, he said there might be a production run of new DTH Center Exhaust in 2 months, he will warranty mine, but asked that I not send it back yet. I'll keep you all posted. Nick's a nice guy !

Customer service doesn't make up for poor quality. DTH has a horrid reputation on this board with their exhaust products.

You might as well just get another brand of exhaust...Borla or Solo or something...

Being nice and standing behind your product are two different things. Has any body ever gotten satisfaction from this company? There are quite a few threads about them. Funny that he told you they MIGHT do a production run. I recall on one of those threads stating they were getting out of the smart exhaust business. Didn't Boris stop selling that junk because of their lack of service.

Yep, don't want to burst your bubble, but Nick has told a lot of people the same thing, and to my knowledge, none have ever recieved a new system. Don't hold your breath.
