Can't help but wonder how many people have lowered their cars ride height but yet didn't readjust toe in or camber? Surely the instructions for these lowering kits spell this out to the DIYS'ers! or is that neglected?

Surprisingly, when I took my car in for alignment, the front camber was only -0.5. Front toe needed to be adjusted. Rear toe was fine. I didn't bother checking rear camber, as my aggressive offsets wouldn't allow me to get any more positive w/o rubbing.

Tbone28 i just got my white passion about 2 weeks ago, im actually debating if i should get the v1 or is the v2 worth the extra $$. i had kw, h&r, weitec, and fk coilovers in my past vw's audi's and mb and never the need for the dampning adjustment, but the smart is bouncy in our california freeway having it lowered would expect to be more stiff, with the softest setting how does it compare to stock?

Rear camber isn't adjustable anyway.

No camber adjustment front or rear from factory or aftermarket. Nor is it needed. Fixed at rear thru arc of travel by De Dion tube and slight increase negative at front from lowering is beneficial to Mac struts.

Third option to consider is the Bilstein PSS -- checked several months ago and was told availability 4th quarter 09.

vwaudi - The softest setting on the KW was too soft for me, for 2 reasons. I didn't like the soft nature, and I was rubbing on turns, as my car leaned. If you're not going as low as me, then rubbing won't be an issue on turns.

The V2 has 20 clicks worth of settings. I'm on click #6 right now, 6th from the softest setting.

We have sold and installed a good number of KWs. KW was going to release the V1, but as of today they have only released the V2.

If you are ever in the area swing by. We keep the KWs in stock and our guys can give you the pros and cons since they have done and continue to do these upgrades regularly.
