Yes, torque wrench was used! Rotor thickness was down several thousandth's also. Rotors can warp in two dimensions, as i mention'd you can feel the wear grooves. Also i am very sensative too this.

I am running Reds on Stock rotors.

Glad I did.

Stop great! less Dust!

they do grab harder, I can lock them up for a moment before the ESP takes over. I feel way better about being able to stop faster.

How are the rotors holding up? I will start out with stock rorors no matter what pad I end up with.

I can't speak for mendo, but I have the same setup. I am concerned about my rotors, the wear since installation of the Reds is quite visible.

I have 35,000mi on this car now, I was going to change the rotors anyway. They are not too much money, for the price I will change them when I change the pads next time. I will keep stock again with aftermarket pads, I have been happy with that.

silver brabus: what shims did you use on the back of the pads? when i install them i normally take the stock shims and use them on the back of the ebc pads. no complaints yet but every driver is different..

john_h: yes john ebc was from sales department from ebc in California and for now they are sticking with the story no redstuff pads for north America (according to smart parts they still have them however) i h ave tried talking with ebc and offering more parts ect but at this time they arent budging.

Why? Because of the noise I reported?

Used the provided EBC shims. Didn't think of swapping them over even though the factory ones looked better. Think I'm gonna try it.

Wanted to do an update, got about 7k on these now and have somewhat rethought my initial impressions.

Dust:
Only significant difference between these and factory pads is that the dust washes off easily. No "real world" reduction in dusting -- wheels are completely black within a few days. Also still getting embedded particles that require clay for removal.

Performance:
No change from initial impressions. Have to remind yourself that the first cold stop is gonna need a little more distance, but other than that they work great. Routinely scream up to a light using half the stopping distance of other cars.

Rotor wear:
Light grooving, I've seen worse with stock pads and rotors on other cars I've owned. No warping or pedal pulsing yet and I use them hard. Safe bet that rotors will require replacement at pad change though.

Noise:
Squeal is gone. Only time I get noise is briefly after car wash or rain when rotors have light rust.

Conclusions:
Not really happy, but wouldn't put the stock pads back on. Stopping performance is noticeably better and they are VERY slightly cleaner.

Would I buy them again? Probably not, hoping for more options come replacement time.

I got great performance with greenstuff and kleenwheels dust shields. I got better results with redstuff ceramic and the dust shield. Both were with the EBC Ultimax rotors (or what was Ultimax at the time - they seem different now).

I don't have massive amounts of dust coming from my ceramics. My replacement pads will be reds.
