EURO-SPEC Eibach springs vs. US-market Eibach springs

Is anyone using the Euro-spec springs? I like how they lower the SMART more than the US-spec springs.

How is the ride? Harsh?

I never heard of Euro Spec springs, if the part numbers are the same it should be the same stiffness and height. What they sell in Europe should be the same as here. Their European webite says the kit drops the car 20mm which is .78 inches, the US Pro Kit drops .8 inches, pretty close.

I learned of euro-spec Eibachs through Wheelexperts, whose SMART you see in the picture above. The owner of Wheelexperts said he bought "euro-spec" springs, which allows for the extreme drop.

If you compare this picture to most SMART owners who have installed US-spec Eibachs, there is a considerable gap between top of tire to fender well for the US-spec Eibachs.

...OK.. I checked Wheelexperts site and they show two part numbers for the smart pro kit...2579.140 and 2580.140.....does anybody knows the difference between the two?
I'm in the market for springs but the choices are minimals....and which will give the better ride ... is there another choice other than HR and Eibach?

If the car above has the EURO spec springs - it looks GREAT!! But I would want to drive it on local roads.

I've looked into these "Euro-spec" Eibachs a bit more, and it seems that owners of such springs are calling them Euro-spec because they bought Eibachs made for the 450's, and installed them on their 451's.

Someone mentioned the fronts are a direct replacement, but the rear springs require a new hat to be made.

I wish the US-Eibachs dropped the car this much

When I ordered my Eibach springs I talked to the tech at eibach and he said all Eibach springs for the smart came from Europe. At that time there were no euro-spec and us spec. I would say that it would probably be the 450's. Mine is the same in the front but the back is a little higher. It also has settled a little since. When I first insalled them I could not get the tires to rub. Now they do alittle. I need to take some new pics with the Eibachs installed. And post them.
