Wait so what you're saying is that Smart did NOT correct this from the 450 design? I know it could cause a lot of problems on the 450 turbos. And Smart has down it again to the non-turbo 451?

Nice work on the air pipe for the 451! Now I can't wait to see hat else you and Forge are working on for the 450!

Forge seems to have outstanding customer service. I ordered one yesterday from the UK site. (I didn't ask for it to be filled in the US, my oversight.) But, today I received an email saying that they noticed I was in the US and I'd do better getting it from their Orlando office. The UK people sent my order to FL and they will be taking care of it. That's good, pro-active customer service.

Did it need to be that long? Looks like you could lose approx. 3 inches off each end without affecting the smooth radius.

Ah sorry, wasn't around for that joke, only just started getting the ED spam.
I don't design anything until the car is out and I feel there is a need for something.

It's a bad angle that picture although I know what you are saying but I'm glad to say no. If it was just that sweeping bend then you'd be OK to shorten it but after that it has to curve down over the gear change motor to the throttle body. If you cut down the first part of the pipe you would drastically increase the angle of the last bend and you'd need add another bend to create the proper angle into the throttle body.

Just FYI:

I ordered the intake hose on 30 Sep and had this reply the next morning.

"Thank you for your order.
We will be receiving the initial shipping order for the Intake Hoses for the Smart Car on Thursday (8 Oct) of next week. The estimated USD price point will be around $90, but we will know more information on that within the next few days. I'll let you know when they come in.

Kind Regards,

Jeff Orlando

Excellent customer service

Now I am confused. Why won't this fit my 2009 Brabus Coupe? All the data told me that it was the same exact engine as the standard with the modified exhaust.

It is exactly the same engine and the pipe will fit fine. It will not fit the higher hp ROW Brabus cars.

Gotcha, now I understand. It is Forge's misconception of what the USA Brabus is. Their disclaimer is incorrect for our Brabus's (Brabui?).

I have let them know so hopefully it'll get changed soon.

For everyone who buys one of these, a good tip I have for cleaning it to keep it looking lovely is to wipe it clean with baby oil (I hope that's not just an English thing and I have just said something disgusting).
