fender skirts

Has anyone considered testing or making fender skirts to improve mileage/looks? I just saw an article about saving gas and it mentioned them. How much difference would it make? Just think of the possibilities (nice rounded fenders on a pink Smart Hmmmmm).

Actually it has been done. Don't remember the company, but I'd say it was around a year ago when I saw them. The guy was selling them for around $350? or so.

I'm a huge fan of skirts since I had them on my Insight....as well as a few of the 50's and 60's cars I've had.

I'll try to remember the company, they have been done ....AND it was on a 451. I think the company was in California.

Why not put skirts on front and back tires so it looks like you're driving a shoe around.
