Going to install MDC cruise - want brighter LED

I received my MDC cruise control last week. I know I am going to want to install the LED in the speedo area. Has anyone changed the LED that came with the MDC for a brighter one? If so, can you point me in the right direction (model, source, etc.)? I am not electrically minded. Will have a friend assist who is much better than these things than I am. Want to get everything together before starting the install.

I'm sad that I've been taking so long but the cross-country move kind of got in the way. I plan on offering both a brightness booster for the existing LED and a different LED assembly that would provide a cleaner installation in the instrument panel. "Before Christmas" is as far as I go promise-wise, however.

That would be great. I would love a brighter LED, looking forward to the upgrade.

Krusty, I took the easy way out and put mine in the dash as shown in the instructions. Haven't yet driven it in bright sun, but on a brief test drive today it was easy to see.

Following up on this;
I just installed the MDC unit and it works great!
Would like a brighter LED though for the instrument cluster.
