GSmart-XR 1000 Powered car

Well there's a few people putting engine's in so i thought I would post mine.

Now before anyone asked.. I didnt weld the engine mounts into the subframe. This is a kit I bought from extreme sports cars in the UK.

What I did was take down my subframe and gsxr engine and I got it back all fitted ready to go back in... so with that said lets have some info and pic's

Below is my subframe ready to go in for trial fitting. Upgraded rear PI springs / shocks

Getting ready for lining up and seeing what needs cutting

Here is what I guessemated needs cutting out.

This is it in.. sort of.. lol

Air filter getting ready :-)

The GSXR clocks

Clutch Pedal

I welded in a new section which then allows this box to cover the whole of the engine..

This top L bit is what I welded in behind the handbrake..

hmm cant really see.. oil cooling pipes fitted

and a couple more pic's...

Very nice work, looks very clean! I've not researched these very much, what transmission/axle setup are you running? I'd like to see your shifter setup as well.

Keep it up, sure to be a blast when it's done!

Steve, The car is coming along great! Let me know if you still need the wire colors for the electric fan.

Hi fella.. will post some pic's when I get home. All I've done so far is mount a 14mm bar slightly bent in the middle inside the original 450 gear housing. I've stuck a metal ball on top.. the stick needs to be shortened to length yet but I'm waiting till my seats are in so I can get the right height.

I've traced the relay and feed wire for the fan but I haven't managed to trace the negative switch wire to charge the relay. At worst I'm going to solder a thin wire to the relay itself then pop it in its socket and just switch that. I do intend fitting a temperature controlled switch to operate it on the feed water pipes but for now a switch will do. I also do not have any external water pumps nor am I using a header tank on the engine as the one in the front of the smart car is higher than the engine.

O.. btw the way I explained to you how I've done my water pipes seem to work great hot air out of the heater :-)

Very cool!
I love the instant throttle response.
Sounds dangerous.

well I've taken tomorrow off work so I cant get my cables finished. I can then get the carpet fitted / seats in and I only then have a few jobs left :-)

Brakes to bleed
Diff to fill with grease
Radiator fan to wire up to a relay / switch
Warning bulbs to remove that are no longer needed
cover plate at the back to make / cover with carpet and tidy up

will be posting another video soon
