I was just wandering if anyone has dropped the motor from the 451 smart? Being that it seems like a small task I figured their might be someone here that just wanted to look around.
So my question... did you take any pics... is the header match up the same as the 450... do you think the turbo pipe from the 450 would work at all or would a turbo require a custom manifold?
Oh, raise your hand if you are ready to blow one of these motors up?
Why not look at the turbo and manifold + intercooler from the 451 in europe? They are actually made for the same Mitsu motor ....
I have a dealer putting a quote together for me for all those parts, and I will bolt them on when they get here. I just need to figure out how to program the ecu ....

Why not just buy the correct ecu along with the parts?
@ Need4Speed. Seems you'll be spending quite a bit on parts. Why not just buy a euro ECU. Go to Misterdotcom.de. The guy speaks english. He'll probably sell you the unit with the 114hp upgrade!!

You can also buy aftermarkets from the guys that specialize in smart. You WILL find the turbo app you're looking for! SW-Exclusive.de maybe. Guys name is Sascha. Is located in Wiesbaden Germany. He squeezed 120hp out of the 600cc turbo engine(pics are online. Smart is Pink with silver cell)!
