I purchased a smartuki conversion and the drivers side inner CV is broken. The tripod that was in it is a 25 mm 20 splint unit. It utilizes the same quaife diff that you are using. Who have you sourced to proced driveshafts because smartuki has been screwing me around for a month and I can not find a replacement inner cv.
THANKS!

Hi Ben,
This is where I got mine from, they cost a small fortune but I got them in like 4 days. SR4 Differential Assembly with Reverse
They sent them in the original box so I have the part numbers if you want to get creative and get them from some kind of foreign auto parts store. They are just inner CV's from the European Ford Escort/Fiesta. The brand is AMK and the part # on the box is TDL3602R
Sorry to here you are having trouble with the car, good luck!
Keep up the good work on the build but you must realistic on the price if you want to succed as a buisness. Consider a reasonable price where you can still make a profit and satisfy the consumer. 17K is even more expensive than the shipping your car to Europe and having it done.
I think 17K is very reasonable. IIRC, the smartuki kit is in the 10-12K range? I was talking to someone who bought the kit, and he said he basically had to remake almost every part of the kit. He was over 50K into the project (not sure if that included the cost of the car itself, but still).
Until someone has scratch built a car, they cannot understand the cost. I have built several Hot Rods over the years, almost without exception when a non "Car Crazy" person asks how much would I take for the car, they all think I am trying to rip them off. What you are doing is taking the whole thing to a higher level, you have my upmost respect. I put a supercharged Mustang Cobra 5.0 in a 86 Volvo 760, it was a ton of fun blowing away all the kids in their Rice Burners with coffee can exhausts. One kid asked my why I did that conversion, I told him it was to teach kids to respect old men in Volvos. Your Smart will have the effect. Let's hope nothing breaks and you have a ton of fun like I did.

Awesome Old Man!!! One of the reasons I purchased the Smart was to have/do something different. Nice job on the Volvo!!!! did you ever get the traction problem worked out!!!
Hey Matt, we are in talks right now for a possible National Smart Rally next year, You'll need to bring that thing down so we can rip some donuts in the parking lot, LOL!

Note the Genius using better Hayabusa GSXR 1300 engine.
According to Matt, his kit will provide true bolt on install, better quality and reliability then Smartuki.
Also you will have "local" support and I assuming some type of warranty.
Maybe Matt can fill us up on differences or advantages of Smartbusa kit over Smartuki.
Not to hi jack my own thread, but can any of you tell me how to quote a bunch of different post's all at once, to multi-quote if you will?
Thanks,
Matt

As a business person myself (one who has succeeded) I can safely say that $17K is a reasonable price for this kit. Especially given that Matt is putting out almost $6K for the engine and differential to start with.
Given all the hours spent "inventing" this kit... and all the work remaining to productize it, Genius will need to sell quite a few kits at $17K just to break even. This is a unique product. Some time in the future, there may be some viable competition, but the cost of developing something like this will be a huge barrier to entry for other businesses. Until competition arrives, Matt can charge whatever he wants... but he has chosen to price it reasonably so others can experience the joy of burning up tires at high rate of speed.
