You shouldn't dare as 452 is the model number for the Smart Roadster.

That set up is very cool. I kinda don't think it would fit very well in the Smart without moving the engine upwards which would involve a lot more cutting. Also, I think that unit is about $7,000!!!!

Any 2008-2009-2010 Smart fortwo will work just fine.

Out of curiousity, what's the 0-60 and top speed?

Oh and is it possible to be done to a cabrio?

Just wondering...If I ever get enough $$$ a smartbusa is definitely on my wish list!
Top speed should be 125, no 0-60 yet but from what I see so far it will be impressive.
No problem on the Cabrio, it will work fine

i was wondering if you have the final price figured out yet?
also if i shipped my car to you how long would the turn around be?
just trying to get a plan for the future
Final price is around $17K
For now I am saying the turnaround is about two months, these will be hand built to order.

The SmartBusa is getting torn back apart monday and sent to powdercoating. Initial testing has been great, the only weak link is the drive flange which is made out of lazer cut mild steel. The new and improved version will be made from hardened tool steel and wire cut with an EDM. then....lots and lots of burnouts!
Should have more info on my website real soon
Matt

From the website:

Quote:
ENGINE: 190HP
TOP SPEED: 120MPH (LIMITED)
0 to 60 MPH: 4.2 SEC
1/4 MILE: 12.4 SEC
CURB WEIGHT: 1650 LB
Those times are amazing, better than some of the "performance" cars out there today. Congrats!

Hi guys,
Those figures are pure speculation at this point, the numbers are what the math works out to... I havent tested anything like that yet.
I was going to try and wait a couple of weeks to announce the website but I guess the cat is out of the bag now!
I owe 100% of the credit to CubeFX for the website being as cool as it is, Aydar (Cube) with out a doubt is one of the nicest and most talanted guys I know.

The SmartBusa had a few bugs that needed worked out before I could give it a real beating. The last month or so I have ripped the car back apart completly to do some refining as well as powdercoating.
I also built jigs so I could re-produce the frame.
Here are a few pics from today, the car as it sits, and the frame jigs...I will have the parts back from powdercoating tomorrow, I will post pics of that stuff then.

P.S. Baby benz, I can work something out with you when you are ready, it will be in the 6 to 7 thousand range depending on what else you need, (like a jack shaft and such)

Man I am getting anxious for this. I've been racing my other car...a Suzuki SX4 with a custom turbo. It's fun, but everytime I hear a motorcycle go down the track I picture my little Smart with the Hayabusa motor. That's going to be a blast.
